What should I expect after a chemical peel?

Depending on the intensity of the chemical peel, the healing can vary from two to 21 days. The treated skin will initially be red, and you will need to protect it from sun exposure.  Picking or exposing your skin to the sun may result in infection and scarring.

Are chemical peels painful?

There may be some stinging during your chemical peel, but they do not cause a great deal of pain.  Peels can cause redness and irritation once the skin begins to peel.  If you ever experience pain, please let your esthetician know right away.
